Another damn idea to ‘tear her heart out’!

Space Florida is promoting aerospace in Florida to lure commercial launches. They are proposing to build a launch complex (Shiloh launch complex) located north of the existing Kennedy Space Center and the Merritt Island Wildlife refuge on the East Coast of Florida.

The proposed area is of very environmental and historical importance. According to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, it is the home of 18 federally listed endangered or threatened species, 31 families of federally threatened Florida shrub jay families, Gopher tortoises, you name it.

It is also a sugar plantation that was built in the 1760’s, has Indian mounds and middens and is a fishing heaven.

Besides, building another launch pad right at the Indian River Lagoon, which is already impacted by all the buildings and pollution is not a good idea.

If you are also against this proposal, send an email to: faashiloheis@cardnotec.com

Or mail a letter to Ms. Stacey M. Zee, FAA Environmental Specialist, Shiloh EIS c/o Cardno TEC Inc., 2496 Old Ivy Road, Suite 300, Charlottesville, VA 22903

How sad.  I awlways feel like I am intruding on their turf
(the animals here long before us)
when I am out it the wilderness.
I wish folks were more respectful of wildlife,
and their right to be here and left alone.

Humans are the world's most successful invasive species. They've been everywhere on this planet, with very little positive impact for any other lifeform but their own. But will incessantly complain if any other native or invasive species poses any inconvenience to them. Yet, consider themselves the most highly evolved and most intelligent of all earths inhabitants. And in time, will orchestrate their own extinction.

Go Figure!
