I was there. That night changed my life (I always intended on writing a review, but like I said, that night changed my life--I've been so busy ever since!)...
I did not see any tapers.....What I would give for a copy of that show...

That's cool bocomofro. I hope you mean it changed your life in a good way. Good to see you. No prob on the review although Sunshine may not be as easy to forgive you.  Too bad about the tapers.  I wish we were seeing more these days.

Yeah, in a GREAT way...

My review is that I picked up my neice, who was spending her last week at a summer internship in Independence...Had to go to Gates first. It was awesome...Got to the venue (also awesome) heard JJ wailing some Otis, (which now that I look at the setlist, means that I missed 3 songs) FROM OUTSIDE THE VENUE!!! Good thing that I decided to get there early for Jonny Lang...Never would've imagined Mofro would go on first...Got my ass in gear, bought tickets from a gentleman outside, and went in. Good crowd. Not TOO crowded. A good show. Danced my ass off. I'm glad no one videotaped ME dancing (Chelsea give that guy a break--if you think HE looked funny dancing, you haven't seen anything, yet). Met two awesome people, I've been able to stay in contact with one of them... Oh, and SHE'S ADDICTED NOW. I am, too.
Oh, and I've seen 'em 15-20 times, just so you know where I'm coming from...I try to not miss a show if they're within 3 hours or so by car...

thanks for the story bocomofro!!  and don't listen none to Mr. D, I am very forgiving and I know first hand how life itself can get in the way of our extended pleasures that at times have to be set aside - temporarily ......... don't be a stranger with any Mofro stories you may have though out your 15+ shows!

You can lead a horse to water, ya know?
My niece likes JJ Grey & Mofro because she likes good music, not because anything I did. Which is nice. She gets it. Now, her brother...
Oh, and I can't finish my review because I am still living it.
Peace,
Pete
