Short setlist cause they were opening for Simon McBride. Colin said they absolutely positively jammed the shit outta Ho Cake. (They dropped War, EGIB, and OB.) He didn't see tapers but said lots of people were taking pics.

Great sampling of songs to tease the Brits with. That setlist would definitely leave a MOFRO virgin intensely curious and excited to investigate the band and their music!

very few of those @ the robin had ever heard of JJ Grey & Mofro before last night and i have to admit that I only discovered them a few months ago.. but they certainly made an massive impression on all who were there.. its the first time ive seen an opening act get a standing ovation at that venue..
certainly gave them all something to think about.

Welcome Rob...official welcome as he and I've emailed a couple times. Rob is the photographer that did the pics in the slide show a few posts down. He also has the distinction of being the first person to sign up to the board from the UK in at least 2 years. Does he get a cheerio or something for that? I also must gloat that this is one of the few times I beat Sunshine at welcoming someone.
Note to Sunshine:  
5:1 odds she's cleaning up after dinner and getting ready to check the board anytime now. Takers? (It's 7:48 pm eastern)
3:1 she's helping one of the boys with homework

Meanwhile, back on subject, thanks much Rob for giving us the first report from a show over there. Many of us have been anxiously awaiting any word on how the band has gone over amongst people in the UK.
A standing O for an opener. Pretty rare here too. This is great news!

I wondered the exact same thing. I sent off an email to Colin last night and just heard back that Art is with them. His home is far enough away from the flooding to not be affected. He said Art's wife and son are doing fine. (For those who may not know, Art lives in Memphis.)

I'd like to check out the photos on Rob's site during lunch break today. Anyone know where the JJ&M photos are on his site? I can't see the ones embedded here, they are firewalled. But I can see the photos on his site.
(recommend viewing the folder titled "nudes". Just sayin.)
