My sentiments exactly Sunshine!!

Skotdee!! There's not enough thanx in the world brutha!! Being able to make the oppurtunity to see ya do yo thang up close like that was most excellent! One of the bigger highlights of my trip!

Now I know I may have had a wierd way of showing my thanx and all... but trust me... pouring half a whooskey on your foot aint some goofy thing we do up here in the north to say thanx... How terribly embarrasing!! Hope there's no hard feelings man... And I'm real sore about not being able to stay up for the after party shennanigans to get to know you n Sunshine... Just that much more fuel for next time. The Bird's already circled on the calendar!!

Y'all shoulda seen the look on this mans face after he put out a lil fire (figure of speech) in front of his camera rig and soundboard. The free standing bar was toppled over into the soundboard and his audio rig was crunched in between!! He looked at me with the biggest "HOLY SHIT" eyes without even sayin anything...LMAO! He takes a deep breath and out came his cape and "S"... (Funny visual...) He's down there for about 60 seconds or so checking down all his equipment and straightening his mic stand back up. Comes bombing back up only to realize his video is still pretty well centered and focused... Looks at me now with the sweetest lil schmuurk and he's like.... (exhale) "Sheeiit... I aint missa beat..." all mellow like...

BRAAAA!! VOOO!!

Tell ya what too guys n gals... the Mofro purists at large seem to be slowly adjusting to the newer bigger sound. Ya know...? The longing and already missing that swampy sound we all know and love? But I for one... have no problem finding plenty of that grease in this big time sound!! I've now seen 5 shows in support of GW... It's all still there..and much much more!!

Idunno...perhaps I'm just swerved having come up with the likes of Peter Wolf and the J. Giles Band here in Detroit. It's a big time sound yes... yet the grease is plentiful. Maybe that's a bad analogy for y'all.

Ciao fa now...

Hey gigs...I have a youtube account that lets me load a vid up to 20 mins long. Is there a way you can email me the longer ones?  I can get 'em up there for all to see/embedding, etc.

Modifab! Whats up bro! Im still thinking you get the travelers award for this one, dude DROVE down from DETROIT ya'll... Rock City in the house! No hard feelings at all about the Whooskey spill, hell, I had forgotten all about it. Im sure that shoe needed some disinfecting anyway THANKS to YOU for keeping the whiskey & red stripe flowing all night! Now I remember why I was so wiped out after the show You're not the only one who didn't make the late night party, I was a goner the minute I hit the hotel room...

Glad you enjoyed hanging back at the controls with me, I usually don't get much company back there, not for an extended time anyway. For some reason everybody around here likes being UP FRONT to see all the action LOVE your colorful description of the OH SHIT! moment by the way. Listen up in the first few minutes of Gotta Know ya'll for when the bar/drink stoop came crashing down on the soundboard. My favorite part is hearing some drunk in the background "it wasn't me, it wasn't me" (I bet it was him) I still say thats their bad joo-joo for the dude unplugging my board patch... (House sound guy ya'll, not Chris) I bet their still cleaning beer and cigarette butts outta that thing.

And as far as the new, bigger sound... This mofro purist LOVES it. Roll with the changes folks. And you are dead on when you say the "grease" is still in there. And speaking of grease, Im sooo happy we got a bass GUITAR back in the mix, and furthermore a motherfunker like Smallie bringing it to us... No offense to the Organ master Scone whatsoever, but man, hearing Todd thump those strings takes me back to the good ole days with FabGrease holding down the bottom. And your J Geils analogy wasn't lost on me so ya know, I've still got their "full house" live album from the Cinderella Ballroom on vinyl from my Dad's collection

If those files end up being too big to email (which I bet they are), might I suggest sendspace? They let you send up to 300mb for free... Just a thought.

Oh, I'm so jealous - sounds like y'all had an awesome time!!!

Long story short... I was there Sunday (at both Skipper's and the Q) but didn't get to meet any of you as I wasn't really sure who I was looking for!  I guess I need to carry some of the pictures posted here with me and scan the crowd to match names and faces.  I did look through the crowd a couple of times before the show but didn't recognize any familiar faces from other shows I've been to.  Once the music starts I tend to get "in the zone" and usually don't even realize that there are people behind me.  I'm always a little shocked when I see crowd pics and think "Wow, there really were a lot of people there!"  I agree with the statement someone made around the new year about having name tags - maybe next time I should just walk around holding a big sign above my head.  Ha! Ha!

I did make some new friends and had a good time (how could you not w/ Mofro??) but was really, really distracted by some of the people around me.  Looks like I could've just moved a few feet to my left and been surrounded by the mofrofans.com family.  Had I only known

Thanks to whoever put names on some of the recently posted pictures (there's always so much to read that I forget who said/did what and when/where).  From what I can gather:

MofroFan1:  you were "the guy" on stage after the show handing out playlists, right?  I'll definitely be looking for your great big smile at the Atlanta show.  If I see you, I'll be sure to introduce myself.

TrophyWife:  I believe I met you New Year's Eve.  You were actually the one who made me decide to go to the Skipper's show after all.  You said that for you, Skipper's was THE place to see Mofro.  Now I see why

BillyBob!!!:  I met you at the Ybor show, stood to your left (you seemed so tall - maybe 'cause I'm so short)  I ended up having to attend the show alone, and I am SO not a "by myself kind of girl".  You were really friendly, and I appreciated the conversation.  Never got the chance to say thanks!

I'll be at the Atlanta show on Saturday and am really looking forward to it - hope I'll see some of y'all there!  I'll be bringing two new "Mofro virgins" with me and know they will love it.

Um, looks my "long story short" turned out not to be so short after all - sorry
