Weekend Update February 24-26 2012
Friday evening was relaxing ………. We had a fire going and the kids are into the latest card craze, a pretty involved game called “Magic ~ The Gathering”. Zach has been playing it with his buddies after school far a while now, and Sawyer wanting to be like his older brother, bought the starter deck. Zachary was patient in teaching Sawyer the many rules and strategies; I must say that I found it a quite intriguing game. I was a proud Mama watching my two boys play together through out the weekend, for hours, with out any conflicts and better yet, no video games!
Saturday was one windy day, which made for a cooler day even though the sun was a shining down. Did umpteen loads of laundry while Gregg was outside getting the hoop house ready to put a new cover film on it.
I got a phone call from my Cousin Johnny and what a nice surprise! We talked for quite a while and he told me all about his 2 day business trip to Japan and all the amazing food that was served to him, including some fancy steak that goes for $300 a pound and they only raise 1,200 cattle a year for this purpose. Says it is a step above Kobe beef.
After a while, I took my camera outside to see what I could find. I love my bubble shots! )
Sunday was just beyond beautiful!!! The winds died down and made for a much warmer day outside. I bet it was close to the mid 70’s, for a few hours anyway.
I also took Zachary driving around Buck Ridge Road and back in the Vistas. I was proud of how well he did for his first time. Hard to believe that I have a child old enough to learn how to drive ……..
We all headed outside to help put the film on the hoop house. It didn’t take too long and this was actually one of our Fall projects we were just now getting around to. Now it is time for the Snow Peas to be planted!! The chick weed in the hoop house has been there so long, it was like carpeting, lol. I had to use flat bladed transplanting shovel to remove it, kinda looked like I was removing sod to be replanted. But I was finally outside dewin chores!!!! My first wheelbarrow of weeds for 2012!!!!!! It has been a while since I was able to be outside and get projects or work in the garden done!! Boy how I miss that, I just don’t get the same satisfaction doing laundry for 4 hrs that I do working outside the house. I am excited for the coming gardening season!!!
