Garden Weekend Update 3-10 to 3-11 2012
What an amazing weekend I had! I tell you, it was a weekend that was so good, on so many levels for my soul! I woke Saturday morning and hit the floor running. I had 3 loads of laundry completed and was out the door by 10:00 am. Gregg beat me out there by at least an hour. I was just in awe of the vibe I felt in my holler as I played in my garden, just listening to the birds, feeling the warm breeze, and absorbing every ounce of vitamin D I could out there. Eventually Gregg and I made it back up to the house and rewarded ourselves (and enjoyed ourselves) with a cold beverage on the Front Porch.
Got all cleaned up and jams on by like 5:30. Zach wanted a friend to spend the night so, our buddy Geoff stopped by with his son and we had fish tacos with Gregg's crunchy slaw and my guacamole and served with some of our sautéed Red Russian Kale with garlic, ramps, and maters! We ended up watching "The Hangover" while the 3 youngins hung out is Zach's room. We share a few brews and few bottles of Rex Goliath and had some great conversations til about 1:00 am (2:00 if you changed your clock).
Slept in til about 9 or so and it was a bit chilly (35) so I decided to putz around the house til it warmed up outside. Forecast - a replica of yesterday, but warmer!! oh yeah! I didn't get out to the garden til about 11:30, but this time I was by myself, so I put on my mofroPOD and started with the 10-29-10 Orange Peel show and never looked back. I feel truly blessed to be able to enjoy the labor of gardening. I felt so at ease and "in the zone", a zen like zone. Hard to explain, but I can tell you I was "living in the moment" for most of my weekend, which hasn't happened in a while.
I spent nearly 10 hours between Saturday and Sunday playing in the garden and absolutely LOVING every second of every minute of every hour out there under the deep azure sky. I tried to keep it short, and it wasn't easy. But if a peehure can paint a thousand words ~ I must have a lot to say, so enjoy!!
