Hey all,
So excited about the new album, but just wondering if it will be available digitally.

Hope all my Mo-friends are keeping well.

Cheers

I would say almost definitely on the digital availability.  All of the other albums are on Amazon's mp3 store, which loads directly to iTunes.  Also a great place to pick up the unreleased on CD Tupelo Honey from Choice Cuts.

No single? No single rumors?

The calm before the storm- new album in just over a month and very very quiet....

David, all of the past ones are on itunes so I'd count on this one too.

Chris, only rumor I've heard, not too far back, it was still being narrowed down. My guess is Somebody Else. Some of that is based on the song and some based on how often it's shown up on the setlists.

Admin my man, we need a single. Its almost a month til album release date. I'm trying to get the word out about this but we need a single release date. I've never seen such a delay on a single. You guys know anymore? Singles usually come out a month and a half or two months before the album. We're getting dangerously close. Gotta get that single and radio play to get some buzz going. Till then, I'm blasting Choice Cuts on my facebook.

I'm with ya CC on the wait for the new album is practically killing me and can't wait until they come out with some sort of single, but we need to realize that with Mofro, it's a whole different league than your regular top selling artist.  JJ has never really had much exposure from radio play nor has it ever been widely played over the airwaves before.  The NPR spot that gave them the most publicity back in the Lochloosa days was about the one time that the music reached a somewhat larger audience, and even then it wasn't as if it rocketed Mofro into the Billboard charts.  Times have changed to where radio play does not garner the exposure to new music or artists like it use to.  How many of us sit around and listen to the radio anymore these days?  If you do, it's most likely in your car while driving and even that is being phased out.  Mp3's, phones, and the move to digital has taken over to the point where if you are looking for new music, you find it through ITunes or online.  No one listens to the radio anymore to find new music, we are at an age where we can play whatever we want to listen to whenever we want to listen to it and if we don't have it, in a matter of minutes we can have it just by downloading it.  Even the regular radio is being replaced by Pandora and those platforms where you can again, determine what you listen to.

JJ has been doing the best thing by going the digital route and offering a few download of a song or video to try and gain exposure.  He's done that with his last 4 releases and relied on the Festival Circuit along with the tours to get his music out there.  Any radio play he gets will be far and few in between and that's perfectly alright, because by wasting time and money to get more radio play will likely not produce near the amount of exposure as what he has been doing.

That and if I had to guess, they may be waiting on the right time and place to debut the single for the new album.  It's pretty obvious where and when by looking at the schedule to drop it, being one of the biggest and most talked about festival/gatherings in the nation, much less the world...

I believe that if they do release a single it will be 99 Shades Of Crazy. That's

I don't know if it means anything about anything but I just downloaded a new running app yesterday and when I started goofing around with it last night to see if the music option would shuffle my library, only one song showed up -- yo lady she's shady. Strange, I have never purchased or downloaded that song. I wondered if my smart phone outsmarted me and lined me up to purchase a new release.
