I'm trying to burn up the best Mofro disc of all time, and it appears that iTunes will only allow about 17 to 18 songs (depending on their length) on the disc.  What would be your 18 songs?  I'll allow a couple of responses before I reveal my list.

Thanks!

Swamp Cracka (yes, I'm still out here!)

You just talking about songs from the studio albums?

I would have two discs, depending on what you are wanting, best Mofro with a Rock/Roll vibe, or a laid back vibe...

There would be these songs for sure on both:

Blackwater
Florida
Brighter Days
Lochloosa
The Wrong Side
Country Ghetto
Sun is Shining Down
Orange Blossoms
I Believe
On Fire
Georgia Warhorse
Sweetest Thing
Beautiful World

And then the Rock version / Laid back version

Ho Cake / Air
Dirtfloorcracka / Fireflies
War / Circles
Mississippi / A Woman
Hide & Seek / Gotta Know

This list is all based on how they're played now, live, not the original studio cuts. In no particular order:

Blackwater
Air
Brighter Days
Lochloosa
Fireflies
Wrong Side
War
Circles
The Sun Is Shining Down
Everything Good Is Bad
Dew Drops
Y'bor City
King Hummingbird
All
Hide and Seek
Mississippi
Jookhouse
Footsteps/Turpentine

Hmm. I'm not putting these in any order, just scrolling down my iTunes:

Blackwater

Air

Lazy Fo Acre

Brighter Days

Circles

Country Ghetto

Footsteps/Turpentine

Mississippi

Sun is Shining Down

Hide & Seek

Lochloosa

Fireflies

Junior

Orange Blossoms

On Fire

Move It On

Dewdrops

Ybor City

Damn, that was hard to narrow down, and GA Warhorse really took a beating in the process!

On Palastine
Long Way Home
Mississippi
Six Ways
Hide and Seek
Georgia Warhorse
Country Ghetto
Footsteps/Tuppentine
Gotta Know
Whitehouse
The Truth
Higher You Climb
War
WYLF
Wrong Side
Sun is Shining Down
Lullaby

This assumes there will still be live shows to go to.  If this is one of those "stranded on an island" thingies, then Lochloosa goes on.  And if I'm stranded on this island from fleeing drug deals gone bad, then Higher You Climb is probably coming off.

This is the most complete Mofro Magic Album...  Love seeing what other people put on each of their albums and comparing.  Always interested to see what uhollis comes up with and while most of it is expected, I didn't expect By My Side to show up on there.  No Gal Youngin for uhollis?

Santa Claus, True Love & Freedom
The Wrong Side
Ten Thousand Islands
Mississippi
By My Side - ive been a huge fan of this tune since it first showed up. love the rock in it.
and i guess i would accept this from here out >>
DirtFloorCracker
Gal Youngin
Turpentine
Circles
Free

i know whitehouse i would never need to hear it again and could recall it all.

How Junior Got His Head Put Out
The Wrong Side
Lochloosa
Gotta Know
Sweetest Thing
10,000 Islands
Brighter Days
Whitehouse
Circles
Fireflies
Air
Goodbye

I know that's 19, but for some reason ending the disc with Goodbye just seems right for some reason/

Sweet y'all. I still gotta make a list. Deciding which ones is easy. Deciding which ones to eliminate to get to 20 is the hard part.

Getting the list down to 20 is the hard part, which is why I've done a 2 disc mix a few times.... That way you only gotta get it down to 35-40, depending on which ones you put on there... I know I'd add Dirtfloorcracker, Footsteps/Turpentine, Blackwater, All, Georgia Warhorse, etc., etc. to the list if I was doin another disc.

So far: 8 lists, 53 songs mentioned,  most popular with 6 mentions ...
Brighter Days

As per the original post, "What would be your 18 songs?" 5 lists have 18 songs.

Edited after DT posted his latest list which replaced his old list.

This would be my personal list.  The ones I listed before would be if I were giving someone a complete Mofro Disc so they could encompass exactly that, complete Mofro.  If I were left with just one disc for the rest of my life to listen to, that complete Mofro Disc for me would be:

Brighter Days
Florida
That Boy
Goodbye
Everybodys
Gal Youngin
Dew Drops
Gotta Know
On Palastine
Tragic
Pray For Rain
The Hurricane
She Don't Know
Whitehouse
The Truth
10,000 Islands
Santa Claus, True Love, & Freedom
Diyo Dayo

I have tried numerous times to narrow down my top 17 to fit on one disc to send to friends/family. I CANNOT DO IT!!! I also attempted to put together a "Favorite JJG&M" playlist on iTunes, but gave up on that also. I simply set my iPod to Artist, find JJ, and set it to random. There is NO song I do not LOVE. Of course I like some more than others, but depending on my mood, they're all my faves at any given moment. I also keep falling in love all over again with certain songs. Seems the older I get, the more life I live, and life experiences I have, songs morph into having all new meanings for me.
