I remember last year there was a mention that the Southern Soul Assembly was going to work on an album eventually. JJ, Anders, Marc and Luther working on the same album sounds awesome. Has anyone heard anything? Is this still on the agenda?

I'll inquire and let you know what he says when I see him on Wednesday.

Ok, just briefly mentioned this to JJ on Wednesday and he said it's gonna happen, he's just not sure when.  Doesn't have any sort of timeline planned out for when they might record something together.  Wish I had better news, but at least he didn't completely shoot down that it'll occur.

So cool. Thanks for the info! I wonder if it'll be more of a compilation or all the artists will work on each song. So cool regardless!

Yes! What Firefly said... was actully eerie to some extent but made things quite intense. Was lucky to see the first run of this down in Cincinnati. Will definitely do what I can to see it again.

Hey Cornell... was more passing the stage between them to tell a story then play the song that correlated for the most part... there was definitely some collaboration where a little friendly support was fitting, and a few songs if memory serves correct, were deliberate collaboratives.

Indy and Mrs were at that show in Cinci... help me if I'm off base here Bub...

Yeah, I think it started out w/ each member showcasing themselves one at a time.  Then as it progressed they all started to join in on each other's tunes, some more so deliberate than others.

It was such a stark contrast in audience from an acoustic Dave Matthews & Tim Reynolds show where the goal of that crowd is to get annihilated drunk and then scream out during a quiet song or start a fight.  The SSA show was amazing to have a theater full of people there to hear the music and be respectful.

I'm with you guys. I actually saw a show with the SSA.

I'm just wondering about how they'll record an album. If each artist will contribute a few songs or if all 4 will work together on the whole album.

That was what I was thinking.

Regardless, how awesome to have Marc, Ander, Luther AND JJ in studio together.

Some cool Southern swag will def arise
