You know as a kid in Wisconsin we didnt have alot of money. At least my  family didnt. But Mom always tried to make our favorite cake for birthdays. Mine was Raw Apple Cake.  We had a few apple trees out back and she made this all the time. LOVE this one.

So a girl at work just had her baby shower. Her man is also from Wisco. I went and looked up different traditional recipes. Several had apples... hence... Raw apple cake... Made the cake and they LOVED it.

While it as baking I went through a box of recipes from  Gramma.
She passed a few years ago. While at the house I ent through things and snapped up things I thought noone else would want. Mostly kitchen things.
About 15 yrs ago I entered the recipe into the computer and mailed copies to anyone I htought would also like it.
It was in that box...

2c sugar
1/2  c oil
2 eggs
1t vanilla
2c flour
2t soda
2t cinnamn
1t salt
5c apples, I use apple peeler/ slicer then cut the rings into quarters. You wanna SEE the apples.
1/2-1c nuts walnuts  OR pecans

1/2c nuts
1/4c sugar
1/4c brown  sugar
1t cinnamon

350 for 50-60min.

Its almost apple season. ENJOY!
