Ahhhh, what a feeling of utter exuberance to have our garden right where it needs to be! Gregg and I woke early Saturday morning to get started. He got down there about 30 min before me, I got down there by 10:00 am. We were out there until nearly 5:00 pm. We got the three last beds ready and weeded til about 90% of the weeding was done and planted (by seed or baby plant) corn, zucchini, squash, broccoli, cauliflower, fennel, spinach, eggplant, cukes, and I think that may be it.
So now everything is planted in the garden except for our Habanero and Heatless Habanero plants. They still need to get a bit bigger. And I planted Sunflowers, something I have always wanted to do in our yard since we moved here some 13 years ago. I haven’t been out in the garden for what seems like forever and wow, did I feel absolutely euphoric by the end of the day, both mentally and physically!!!
This weekend, the weather was picture perfect: 77˚ - 80˚, partly sunny and 52% humidity. Sunday morning I spent about 2 hours spring cleaning our Front Porch, saw a few hummingbirds. Heading into the big city of Asheville and took in the movie “The Lorax” at the Asheville Pizza and Brew House. Incredible pizza and I always get a Ninja Porter with a splash of Raspberry Lambec, like drinking dessert!
My brother Joey is coming into town this week and going hiking on Friday!
Til next time!!!
