With the help of DT, I was able to get in contact with Art.  He was playing with Gregg Allman in Cherokee, NC at the Casino.  I decided to bring him a lil sumptin, and since Art has requested my Nanner Puddin' in the past, I decided to go with my gut and make him a batch.

I met up with him before the show and boy did it feel good to give that man a hug!  He was very appreciative, of my gesture and you could tell he was truly touched we came to see him.  I let Art know that I had to show up to give him one more hug. We didn't have long to talk, as he was to go on stage in a few.  Snapped a few photos before he had to take off.

Gregg sounded incredible, considering his recent health issues. And I didn't realize he is 67!  there were 2 sax players and one trumpeter.  Art literally blew away the other horn players. and I am not just saying that.  He was the shining star that night, and I told him so.  I also told him many of you send your love and he sends it back.  He was in his element and it showed.

He had been with Mofro since 2007 I believe .......

Art is a such a sweet humble guy, and I wished him nothing but happiness! I told him, if he is ever within shouting distance again, I will contact him to find out where to drop off the BBQ spread!

Thank you for letting me share.
