I know there are some fellow musicians around these parts, so I figured rather than hijack other threads I would start a new one to discuss random musician stuff.

Who here is a musician? What's your story, what instrument(s) do you play, what types of music, etc. ?

I play the guitar, bass, and drums and I like to 'twiddle' with a little bit of everything else. (I just got my first harmonicas, and I'm looking forward to adding harp to the mix as long as I can get a handle on this damn note-bending business at some point.)
Like my listening habits, the types of music I like to play are eclectic and somewhat schizophrenic at times.
After playing side-man in a handful of bands a few years back, I'm just doing the hermit thing and recording my own stuff at home now..
I'd say I'm still wandering around in an arduous, dense forest of growth trying to really "find myself" as a singer and songwriter, but I have to remember not to let my inherent impatience get in the way. It wouldn't truly be a journey without the trip itself, right?

Viola, Cello, and piano in the classical sense. I started in 6th grade and did pretty well. I did 2 years of music school at USF but hated it, spirit killers  I still played around with them for awhile- I have an electric cello as well and could make some really funky noise with that. I hung out with a drum tribe for a few years and we would meet up in the middle of the woods a few times a year to make a whole lot of crazy sounds around a large fire- which was more than fun- definitely an experience. I pretty much stopped playing about 3 years ago when there was a fire in my apartment. My instruments had some damage, today they are still in tact, but lets just say since I technically did not pay for the instruments I was never the owner of them. Ce la vie, so now a days i got me guitar and I've been pickin around with it, still figuring it out. what can I say I like making noise
