Saturday night I was in the mood to cook something from scratch ....
I found canned tomatoes, garlic, peppers, onions,
check the spice cupboard and found some dried herbs ....
I thought to make meatballs and some homemade sauce.
So I made some fresh bread crumbs and started cooking ......
3 hrs later our tastebuds were experiencing what cooking with love can accomplish!
only the freshest ingridents will do
ready to make the meatballs!!
sautee the onions and JPO peppers ...
..... til perfectly caramelized!
sautee the Early Red Italian Garlic
add 2 quarts of our 2011 variety of canned tomatoes!
after the onion and peppers are added and left to simmer for a while,
it is time to add our dried trio of basil (lettuce leaf, thai, and lemon)
after meatballs baked til they achieved a nice brown semi crunchy outer coating,
they need to simmer about 45 minutes to soak up some of the sauce
place 4-5 meatballs on fresh bakery bun and top with a bit of sauce,
fresh grated parm cheese and
I added a bit of fresh arugala I just harvested! Delizioso!!!!
