Here's a little cut and paste from an article just out written by our very own tox.

Snook and Game Foundation announces the release of Visions of True Florida: First Memories, a series of original artwork representing a collaborative project between official SGF artist Joe Suroviec and some of Florida’s most important contemporary celebrities.

“The idea is unique,” said SGF Chairman Jim Bandy. “Our celebrities discuss their experiences with Florida’s outdoors with Joe, who is able to transform the memories into an image that can be shared with all of us, thanks to his artistic talent.”

Joe’s first celebrity is none other than SGF board member Mr. JJ Grey.  JJ has been supporting the Foundation for years, donating much of his time and talents to the cause of keeping a piece of his childhood Florida alive.

You can also purchase one at the FL Sportsmen Fishing Expo this wknd (Oct 13-14) in West Palm Beach. http://www.floridasportsman.com/expo/

Thanks Clay!
I'm excited for this community to see the prints. They are really fantastic - the online pic doesn't do them justice.
There is a little inside scoop on these. Joe worked JJ's nickname into the print, as well as JJ's name for his grandpa (papa). I'm not telling you where it is, but most of you know JJ's childhood nickname and when you know what you are looking for it's not that hard to find.
As usual, JJ is not making a penny from this, it is a total donation project.
I had one framed and matted, and let me tell you with blue/grey matt it just pops out. Fantastic piece.
If any of you are in SE Florida this weekend, Joe will be at my SGF booth at the Florida Sportsman show, and I believe he'll have supplies there to "remarque" prints. That means for a very small fee of a few more bucks, he can add somethign you want to the print. Maybe a heron on a branch, something like that. that would make your limited edition print a true original.
Some of Joe's other art will be there too. Amazing stuff, he's the best.

-Brett

Looks like they are signed by the Artist, not JJ.  But that should not deter you from getting one as you can easily have JJ sign it after the fact and don't want to miss out on the opportunity to own something like this.

Most of all, for what it goes to help, the Snook Foundation.  It is very cool that JJ supports something like this so generously and to have an Artist in the same boat willing to donate his skill, time, and efforts to help manifest such a beautiful piece of art.

Had a print framed and matted, it was delivered to my work yesterday. A co-worker saw it and while I was explaining what it's all about, she literally started crying. "That so easily could be my grandpa on our lake in Tennessee..."

I'm telling ya, Joe really captured something with this artwork. Pictures don't do it justice, and once framed and matted it looks sublime.

JJ is the man...

iPhone photo of the artist (Joe Suroviec) and Brett Fitzgerald (tox)

Tox wasn't kidding about how good this looks all matted & framed.

I got my print this morning.
