OK, this is a bit down the road (but then, so is Jam Cruise).  As far as I can tell, there will be 20 dates in the US/Canada between 1/15/13 and 3/21/13.  Specific dates and venues I've found include:
2/1/13   Indy
2/2/13   Springfield, Il
2/6/13   Omaha
2/9/13 - 2/17/13  US Northeast
3/12/13  Santa Barbara, CA
3/13/13  Costa Mesa, CA
3/16/13  Santa Monica, CA
Looks like the venues will be pretty nice concert halls.  I'm a little pissed but mostly sad that they didn't do this 2 years ago when Muddy/Wolf bandmates Hubert Sumlin, Pinetop Perkins and Willie Big Eyes Smith were still alive.

Really looking forward to this.  JJ absolutely killed Hoochie Koochie Man when Mofro did the Tampa Bay Blues Fest a couple years ago.  And the Fab TBirds seem a more logical choice as the core band than Big Head Todd on the Robert Johnson tribute tour.  Kim Wilson is a mf'n beast on harp.

BLUES AT THE CROSSROADS 2: Muddy & The Wolf

Fabulous Thunderbirds featuring Kim Wilson
with
JJ Grey
Jody Williams
James Cotton
Bob Margolin

After a sucessful tour with the Robert Johnson Centennial Concerts, BLUES AT THE CROSSROADS returns to celebrate the two ledgends, MUDDY WATERS and HOWLIN' WOLF.  Both musiciansvie for the homor of the "father of modern Chicago Blues" and both are considered the key bluesmen inspiring Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, John Mayall, Eric Clapton and others who brought about the 1960's British blues explosion.Though friends, Muddy & The Wolf were rivals for the top slot, and this spurred on both to top the other and create classics of the genre, including "Spoonful," "Mannish Boy," "Rolling Stone," and "Smokestack Lightning."  THE FABULOUS THUNDERBIRDS join Blues At The Corssroads 2 as the core band backing greats JAMES COTTON, BOB MARGOLIN, JJ GREY, and JODY WILLIAMS.

Right, RIP Honeyboy, but don't think he was ever a regular bandmate of Muddy or Wolf.  He was scheduled on last year's Robert Johnson Centennial Tribute tour, but I believe he ended up cancelling all his scheduled dates due to his health.

GOOD GRIEF CRAVEN HOW DO YOU DO IT!?

That's a cool tour, some big guns. Hopefully they'll move it a bit east and it a bit south too.

Stumbled across the contract rider for the tour.
http://www.tedkurland.com/materials/riders/BluesAtTheCrossroadsrider2013.pdf
Check out page 10, the dressing rooms. JJ's not asking for much compared to some others.

Interesting to read, at least to me anyway.

Hahaha! I saw that earlier! Just some water, a twelve pack of beer, ice to keep everything cold & some towels. No "Diva Demands" there!

WHAT?  A Tucson Show?  Shit, I didn't know they were going to be heading out this way?  But of course, how much you wanna bet JJ isn't along for the ride?  And at the Fox Theatre of all places.  That would be sweet to see JJ there.  Saw Amos Lee there for the Artists Den show and it was killer.  What is even more of a kick in the nuts is that the majority if not all of these people will most likely be staying at the hotel I work at.  But if JJ isn't a part of the show, then he no stay at my hotel...  I'm use to it though...  Not getting my hopes up...

Hmmm.. Orchestra Hall in Minneapolis... February... well, I guess I might just have ta see aboot that one.

Maybe they'd swing up to Duluth for Bayfront Blues? I know Big Head Todd played there on the Robert Johnson tour.

These shows are now up on the band's tour sched. Well not all as outlined above. Not sure what that all means but they've announced some of them at least.

I noticed this on the tour schedule like 2 days ago, but figured you all knew about it, so I didn't post anything.  I would have if I thought I had some type of scoop
