Hey Gang,

I'm not a real doctor, and I don't play one on T.V., that goes for my taping experience too.  Well, unless you count my time recoring albums and cassettes to casettes, say like some Rick James, and Ted Nugent plus everything in between.   Here is or are my questions. Taking into consideration that time may not allow for me to get to the Showbox, during soundcheck, to adjust my levels, and then up to albeit not far, to Silver Platters, to do the same, do you think (provided I figure this machine out...sorta) I can  make quick work to adjust at both if not one location, and still come out ok ?  I don't mean set the levels for both places the same, but rather be able to dial in as best as can, in short order at both locations ?  I know this means I'd have to have my shit together, and that there are variables to both venues, but is it possible to still come away with a good sounding rookie taping ?

Also, the unit that I have borrowed, currently has a 1GB SD card in it, is this adequate for the typical length of showtime that JJ and the boys play, or should I step it a bit and by how much, plus anyone got any idea how long the AA batteries will last ?  Should I get a higher grade of battert, look for a power suppy/adapter and hope that there is an outlet nearby ( or maybe the taping policy nixes this idea), and or what is "Phantom Power" ?

Anyways, I know you cats have said to just give it a shot and enjoy, but my pride  might be getting in the way, and like when I take photos, nothing worse than not having enough power, or leaving something or an idea at home.  Hell, at this point if someone here tells me to just go to the damn show, enjoy it, take your mini cassette recorder with you, and stop asking all of these stupid assed, boneheaded, cityslicker, north of Weed, CA. questions, and just get your funk on....I'd understand.

Set everything up at your house in front of your stereo.....crank some live Mofro.......and mess around with the settings on your deck.

Sunny and SWK,

And everbody else for that matter, I just got back from a friend/ coworkers house where he and his band were practicing for a gig tomorrow.  Danny loaned me a couple of mics.  Got to hear " Rocky Mountain Way,Funk 49" some AC/DC, and some Zepplin too  Another co-worker told me "try out the gear on your noisy kids!" So, we hot some kids over for "Date Night" and well, let's go give it a whirl.  I'll try the dialing it in to some Mofro out in the garage too, great idea SWK !  Did I say already that Silver Platters gave the ok, as long as JJ and or his TM are cool with it......if not, regardless of what the web states....so we'll see how it goes tomorrow !  Gotta go plug in some gear, and if needed, we'll play some late into the night.....maybe a little "Slow, Hot, & Sweaty"....."hey daaaadddd, whaaattss that you're playing...SH&S?"  Yep Mo, never mind the (background noise) and go back to sleep !"
