I could explain restrictor plates, but I've highjacked the thread enough.

In the swamp, we call the cushion a "BURM"

Hey Jimbo, I've heard it called the burm as well.

We had the PASS North series in town this past Saturday. They drive Super Late Model Pro Stocks. Not as fast as modifieds because they're full body. But plenty quick and pretty expensive to run. They have a 13 yr old kid touring with them named Austin Brehio. He's 4'10", weighs 80 pounds. Unbelievable to see a kid that young and small wheeling a full-body stock car. I was playing with Hot Wheels when I was his age, he's drivin one! That's his car the green 11 bottom left.

The pro stock is on the left, that's him climbing out of the last years super street on the right. He won 2 races last year in the super street division. Unreal!

Helix I love to hear about the young guns of the sport! This year we have a 9 year old doing well in our sport compact class (4cyl. frt whl dr.). Got a mini seat welded into a full size containment seat with big tall pedal blocks so lil guy can be up on the wheel! It's such a riot to see him pullin across the scales after the feature!!

Here's a stellar look at a dirt Mod at full song! This is what "on the gas" looks like...

This guy's all over the burm, there's about a half lane left on the top of the track. Plant the right rear into that thing and let 'er eat!! This is an East Cost Big Block Mod...

Okay so I'd said it ws a scientific ordeal to try to find traction with 700 h.p. and an 8" Hoosier tire...

Here's a good look at the crazy rear steering from on board. We make the left rear wheel jolt forward a good 8 inches and allow it to droop way out from underneath the car to go find traction to blend with the right rear. Otherwise we'd just melt the right rear off the car.

I believe the Plymouth Satellite Sebring was named after the place. I just looked on the map, didn't realise it was that close to Tampa. It's well known for endurance racing.

ever go Mr. D?  Gregg used to go with the same group of guys every year.  They hung out at the (I think) hairpin turn.  They were transformed into vial nasty creatures for the weekend.  The brought scaffolding, mannequins, and absolutey no manners.  The called themselves The Kings (kant imagine not going to sebring).  oh the stories .......

Yup it's not too far although it's out in the boonies. Sebring is a small town and the area surrounding it is pastures and orange groves. And the racetrack. No I never went but had a lot of friends that did. I heard a lot of stories for sure! Now I'm too old.
